The pigs at the sanctuary may look a little different to you than what you're used to - that's because the pigs here are all considered "miniature" pigs. That's not to mean that they're small! Miniature pig simply means they weigh less than 400 pounds whereas the traditional farmed pig can easily reach 600 pounds and beyond! Specifically, our rescues are all kunekune and potbelly pigs. All the pigs listed below were rescued from being slaughtered and sold for human consumption.

TitaniaTitania is the boss of the pig herd. She is the biggest and the toughest and she isn't afraid to throw her weight around. She has a sweet side that only comes out with those she trusts. Like most pigs, she enjoys belly rubs.

MirandaMiranda is a snuggle bug but she likes to eat her roots in peace. When it comes to eating, she needs her space. She is protective of her friends, especially Peaseblossom, and will come to their defense if she thinks they are threatened. Some pigs smell like maple syrup - Miranda is one of these Maple Pigs.

PeaseblossomPeaseblossom, or "Easy-Peasy", loves to cuddle. If she sees another pig getting a belly rub she will trot over and flop onto her side next to you in the hopes of getting pets too. Of course, she is always indulged.

MustardseedMustardseed or 'Muzzy' loves attention. She is affectionate and will approach with her mohawk raised to ask for pets. Her and her sister Peaseblossom compete for human affection. If one sees the other getting attention, they will jealously seek to steal that attention.

UrsulaUrsula means 'little she-bear' because that's exactly what she looks like! Ursula is a thoughtful pig who is careful and deliberate about her behavior. She is independent but likes to play with her best friend, Bianca. Ursula is also stubborn and moody.

OliviaOlivia "Cookie" was a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to discovering human affection. She sure is a fan of it now and vocalizes her enthusiasm for belly rubs. She has sad, soulful eyes. Cookie is always the first one to the hay and often can't decide if she should eat hay or get belly rubs so she often does both at the same time.

ImogenImogen is Trouble with a capital T - and that rhymes with P and that stands for Pig! She likes to prowl around with her pal, Octavia, and cause mischief. Though she doesn't like to be touched - at all - she sure is curious. She will often goose you when you're kneeling to give belly rubs to the other pigs. Then she runs away because she knows she is being naughty.

OctaviaOctavia backs up Imogen in all of her naughty schemes. They are buddies that love to cause mischief. Octavia likes to tug on your coat zippers. She is a mischief maker, but she likes her cuddles too!

Jesse JamesJesse James "JJ" was the runt of the litter on a local meat farm. Because his siblings were beating up on him, he ended up half their size with corneal ulcers in both eyes. His chance of surviving past infancy without human interference was nil. In a lucky and ironic twist, his siblings saved his life by bullying him and now he won't share their fate.
